At Aberdeen Corporate Finance, we believe in complete transparency when it comes to fees. We understand that cost is an important consideration, which is why we ensure all charges are clearly explained and agreed before we begin working on your behalf.
Our contingent fee model means that in most cases, we only earn our fee when we successfully deliver a lender offer. This structure ensures our interests are perfectly aligned with yours — we are incentivised to find the best possible solution at the best possible terms.
Fee Components Explained
Broker Fee
1% – 5%All successful transactions are subject to our standard broker fee, calculated as a percentage of the loan amount offered. The exact percentage is determined at the outset and depends on the complexity and difficulty of the case. This fee is payable only upon successful production of a lender offer — if we do not deliver, you do not pay.
Arrangement / Administration Fee
Varies by lenderSome lenders charge an arrangement or administration fee for processing the facility. This is a lender-imposed charge, not an Aberdeen Corporate Finance fee. It may be added to the overall loan amount or payable upon application submission, depending on the lender.
Legal Fees
Varies by solicitorAll legal fees are payable directly by the client to their appointed solicitor. For property transactions, the lender will also instruct their own solicitors, whose fees are typically borne by the borrower. We can recommend experienced commercial finance solicitors if required.
Valuation Fee
Varies by propertyFor property-secured transactions, a professional valuation will be required by the lender. The cost depends on the property type, value, and complexity. In some cases, lenders may accept a desktop valuation, which is less expensive than a full physical inspection.
Due Diligence Fees
Where applicableFor larger or more complex transactions (particularly corporate finance), the lender may require additional due diligence — including forensic accounting, environmental surveys, or specialist reports. These costs are disclosed in advance.
Insurance Premiums
Where requiredCertain facilities require specific insurance coverage (e.g., building insurance for property loans, key person insurance for corporate lending). These are standard lender requirements and are arranged separately by the client.
